:then again my son, making a comparison to the pacman of yesterday to the transformed pacman of today is a total misnomer, just as a comparison between ike bazooka quartey and joshua clottey.
first off, torre campo and manny's fight back in time is what i will describe as a match of the elevenses which was fought at a time when the latter had all speed and nothing like strength and rugged body conditioning as well as lacking in certain skills that freddie roach came in to hone and transform him into a killing machine in the ring.
ike bazooka quartey? give me a break (this is daddy here, lol:).. i would have been much more confident of an upset if clottey was even 30% aggression, like the bazooka man was in his heydays. as a cornucopia of boxing's greatest historical fights, you can bet your bottom dollar i saw that fight and how it went down in the backyard of crisanto 'claws' espana with his towering height and massive venezuelan home support, those were the glorious days of 'bazooka'.
somebody ask clottey to prove me wrong even by doing the whole twelve rounds..... i will doff my hat to him much more.
